Created more than 10 years ago, the company BIOVANILLA has been part of a local and sustainable development approach since 2014, through the creation and support of the Exotic Cooperative. In 2019, another association was born, the association of natural vanilla producers (AVANA). These now bring together more than 2,700 small producers of prepared vanilla. Its objectives are aimed at improving the lives of producers, through various economic, environmental and social programs; the assurance of a stable, traced and superior quality supply, as well as the maintenance and development of the traditional know-how of the preparation of vanilla. In this sense, the Exotic Cooperative - the association AVANA and BIOVANILLA have been organic certified (EOS and NOP) since 2015 and 2020. The FFL certification is therefore part of this approach to support producers and sustainability of the sector. As the vanilla market is very fluctuating, the floor price criteria will ensure stable income for producers, even in the event of sharp price drops. An important client of Biovanilla, IFF wishing to participate in this sustainability has joined the fair trade project and a partnership contract has been established. A program of activities for the development fund has been set up and is being updated according to the needs of producers. The main axes of the development fund relate to the opening up of certain villages with tracks restoration (and / or construction of bridges, ravines ...), access to drinking water and education. This FFL project is important today because it allows the cooperative - the association and Biovanilla to be able to anticipate and prepare for the years to come in the event of market disruptions. Producers will thus be supported and better organized.
Créée il y plus de 10 ans, la société BIOVANILLA Sarlu s’inscrit depuis 2014 dans une démarche de développement local et durable, par la création et l’appui de la Coopérative Exotic. En 2019, une autre association a vu le jour, l'association des producteurs de vanille naturelle (AVANA). Celles-ci regroupent aujourd’hui plus de 2700 petits producteurs de vanille préparée. Ses objectifs visent l’amélioration de vie des producteurs, au travers de divers programmes économiques, environnementaux et sociaux ; l’assurance d’un approvisionnement stable, tracé et de qualité supérieure, ainsi que le maintien et le développement du savoir-faire traditionnel de la préparation de la vanille. En ce sens, la Coopérative Exotic - l'association AVANA et BIOVANILLA sont certifiés Biologique (EOS et NOP) depuis 2015 et 2020. La certification FFL s'inscrit donc dans cette démarche de soutien aux producteurs et de durabilité de la filière. Le marché de la vanille étant très fluctuant, les critères de prix plancher permettront d'assurer des revenus stables aux producteurs, même en cas de fortes chutes de prix. Un important client de Biovanilla, IFF souhaitant participer à cette durabilité s'est associé au projet équitable et un contrat de partenariat a été établi. Un programme d'activités pour le fond de développement a été érigé et est mis à jour selon les besoins des producteurs. Les principaux axes du fond de développemnt portent sur le désenclavement de certains villages par la restauration de pistes (et/ou construction ponts, raviers...), l'accès à l'eau potable et l'éducation. Ce projet FFL est aujourd'hui important car cela permet à la coopérative - à l'association et à Biovanilla de pouvoir anticiper et de préparer les années à venir en cas de perturbations du marché. Les producteurs seront ainsi soutenus et mieux organisés.
