Deluxe Shea Butter Ghana Ltd is a supplier of premium quality, A-grade, certified organic and fair trade, unrefined Shea butter, originating from Ghana, West Africa, to Australia and the world. Deluxe Shea Butter Ghana Limited is a related company of Deluxe Shea Butter Australia. Although incorporated in 2010, the business began operations in 2007 when the two founding brothers formed a partnership with their mother and Auntie, the late Nana Adubea Yeboah II, Traditional Chief of Aduamoa in Kwahu, Ghana. Initially it supplied Shea butter to the Ghanaian community in its adopted hometown of Adelaide, South Australia.
The company officially began the Ghana operations in 2016 as organized collector and processor of shea nuts and butter respectively.
Its collection sites are in Tolon District of Northern region and processing base is located in Tamale on the Kumbungu road. They are working with ten communities in Tolon District for shea nuts collection; three (3) communities (Kpendua, Grumani and Nabilgu) for its Fair for Life project and seven communities (Kagbal, Sinsina, Kpachiyili, Bunyili, Gbrumani-Tibogu, Nyobalga and Tibogu) for organic collection. Each of these communities has their individual community warehouses. It also has two processing centres in two separate villages (Zugu and Gumo). Zugu is exclusively for organic fair trade processing of shea butter and Gumo is for processing of exclusively conventional fair for life shea butter.
Its organization is an organized group of about 1800 women shea nuts collectors from the above communities under the Deluxe Shea Butter Ghana Network.
