 | Impact, actions & engagements remarquables | | | Naturnorm is an agricultural company, established in 2017 by two agriculture engineers. It is specialized in production and processing of organic herbs and spices, amongst all organic fennel seed has the highest ratio. Organic fennel seed remains the strategic product of the Company, since Naturnorm has longer expertise and deeper knowledge in its production and processing.
Organic production is done with the contracted farmers, Naturnorm provides technical guidance during each stage of production. For 2021, Naturnorm has two small scale family farmers within FFL Project.
Once the production is completed, each farmer lot is individually transferred to Naturnorm’s storage and processing facilities located in Salihli, Manisa. Naturnorm premises are in rural area of Salihli, close to local community and the premises are also organic certified. Naturnorm has 14 permanent employees for the time being and plans to expand its organization in line with the increasing product amounts.
2020 was the first year for Fair Trade Fund usage. The decision was to provide two female students, selected by the farmers in the regions, scholarship for the 19-20 Education Period. The students were selected by the Fund Committee and the farmers of the regions. However, due to Covid-19 the schools were closed in all Turkey in March 2020 and we had to postpone providing the decided scholarships. With the increasing number of incidents only online training is available still, and we decided to provide tablets to seven students in the region. The students were again selected by the Fund Committee and the farmers of the region.
