OKA Cosmetics company is made up of 2 entities: one in Guinea (OKA Cosmetics Guinea - production) and the other in France (OKA France Cosmetics - marketing).
It supports the production of organic and fair trade shea butter, mainly by women, through a cooperative in Guinea (COPRAKAM) and supported by two NGOs: Trias (Belgium) and ATC (Guinea).
The whole activity is placed in a fair context, for the moment rather informally but with the implementation of formalized process and when, including the creation of the development fund management committee 2018 for 4 years.
Initially, the fair trade support provided was logistical (supply of equipment, a vehicle) to allow collectors to work in the best possible conditions and sustain the collaboration which bring significant income in this mountainous part of Guinea.
Once a production equilibrium is reached, OKA wishes to set up more global projects, at the level of education and literacy of the Guinean population. In this context, OKA is in contact with 1 Humanitarian Association already present in Guinea: the Children of Air (http://enfants-air.com/)
L'entreprise OKA Cosmetics est composée de 2 entités : l'une en Guinée (OKA Cosmetics Guinée - production) et l'autre en France (OKA France Cosmetics - commercialisation).
Il s'agit de production de beurre de karité biologique et équitable, principalement par des femmes, au travers d'une coopérative en Guinée (COPRAKAM) et soutenue par 2 ONG : Trias (Belgique) et ATC (Guinée).
L'ensemble de l'activité se place dans un contexte équitable, pour l'instant de manière plutôt informelle mais avec la mise en place de processus formalisé au fur et à mesure, avec notamment la constitution du comité de gestion du fonds de développement le 30 juillet 2018 pour une durée de 4 ans.
Dans un premier temps, l'accompagnement équitable mis en place a été d'ordre logistique (fourniture de matériel, d'un véhicule) pour permettre aux collectrices de travailler dans les meilleures conditions possibles et pérenniser la collaboration qui amènent des revenus non négligeables dans cette partie montagneuse de la Guinée.
Une fois qu' un équilibre de production sera atteint, OKA souhaite mettre en place des projets plus globaux, au niveau de l'éducation et de l'alphabétisation de la population Guinéenne. Dans ce cadre, OKA est en contact avec 1 Association humanitaire déjà présente en Guinée : les Enfants de l'Aïr (http://enfants-air.com/)
