| Social Impact & Special Achievements | | | SIIM, a subsidiary of the group OMER-DECUGIS & FILS founded in 1850, is a producer, importer, ripener and distributer of tropical fruit and vegetables, a reference in the European market and a leader in Africa. They have a production in Africa and Latin America and their own distribution network in France and Spain from where they deliver to the complete European market. SIIM uses their special know-how in the refinement(bananas, mangoes, papayas, avocadoes) which permits them to offer a range of bananas and exotic fruit with guaranteed ripeness from the platform of ripening in Rungis. They are involved in every phase of the value chain from the production to the distribution and are known for their demand of alimentary quality and safety (certification IFS Food, autorisation OEA). SIIM is very engaged regarding a balanced development for everyone, they are certified For Life as a responsible employer by the independent organisation IMO. Furthermore they are a member of the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), have agreed to the world pact of the United Nations and they support Rainforest Alliance.The philanthropic actions of SIIM are supported by the foundation Louis Omer-Decugis with the aim to strengthen, develop and encourage in France and abroad projects and initiatives of general interest without profitable aim which contribute to the 4 following objectives : • Development of a stable agriculture. • Support for developing countries, especially for the reduction of inequalities, access to education, care, a preserved environment, especially in Africa. • Support for ill or handicapped persons with a great physical, material or moral need. • Support to micro projects which are promoted by employees of the group Omer-Decugis et Fils. The foundation Louis Omer-Decugis was created in 2014 and its aim is to lobby for the development of a stable agriculture and to help the communities in difficulty. |
