| Impact, special achievements & commitments | | | En/Fr SOBÉKA is a company under Beninese law, it has organized a women's cooperative for the collection of shea nuts in a village north of Djougou called Koubonbongou in the department of Donga where it has a unit for processing almonds into shea butter. We buy these almonds from women according to the standards of wild harvesting in organic farming and the values of fair trade. We equip them with boots and gloves to facilitate picking up in the bush and avoid snake bites. SOBÉKA buys an average of 2 to 3 tonnes of almonds per year for a production of approximately 1 tonne of butter. The company is committed to a sustainability policy with particular emphasis on social justice by working to improve the living and working conditions of all staff and collectors through the values of Fair For Life. SOBÉKA est une société de droit Béninois, elle a organisé une coopérative de femme pour la collecte des noix de karité dans un village au Nord de Djougou appelée Koubonbongou dans le département de la Donga ou elle a une unité de transformation des amandes en beurre de Karité. Nous achetons ces amandes aux femmes selon les normes de la cueillette savage en agriculture biologique et les valeurs du commerce équitable. Nous les équipons de bottes et de gants pour faciliter le ramassage en brousse et éviter les morsures de serpent. SOBÉKA achète en moyenne 2 à 3 tonnes d'amandes par an pour une production de d'environ 1 tonne de beurre. La société est engagée dans une politique de durabilité avec un accent particulier sur la justice sociale en œuvrant pour l'amélioration des conditions de vie et de travail de tout le personnel et des collectrices via les valeurs de Fair For Life. | ||||
