Impact, special achievements & commitmentsThey are a group of Perkumpulan Petani Organik Wonoagung Wonogiri small scale farmers at Kebonagung, Sidoharjo, Wonogiri, Central Java Indonesia. They are united under Farmer Association, since the year 2012 to ensure environment sustainability through organic farming. Their group has more younger people of 40 years and under in terms of farmers and management. This stems from their desire to regenerate the agriculture in Indonesia, which are mostly dominated by older farmers nearing the pension age.
They have 3 processing units with 45 permanent and casual workers. They have certified rice, cashew, spices and cocoa for international organic certification.
They focus on the process of rice, cashew, spices, and cocoa started from the supervision of cultivation, purchasing, processing, storing to selling.
All commodities are obtained from farmer members who are certified organic. The total number of farmers is currently 372 farmers. 259 rice farmers with a land area of 101.64 ha. 6 spices farmers with an area of 6,1 ha. 73 cashew farmers with an area of 24.48 ha. and 41 cocoa farmers with an area of 14.76 ha.
